Running Auto DM for more than one account
Two accounts on Pro, five on Business, and one pooled balance between them. How team seats work, why credits are shared rather than split, and what a manager can and cannot see.

One creator with one account is the simple case, and it is the one Instoly was built for first. The moment there is a second account, or a second person, two questions arrive: who can get in, and whose credits are being spent.
This is how both work in Instoly, including the part that surprises people, which is that the credits are pooled rather than divided.
How many accounts does each plan cover?
Free covers one Instagram account, Pro covers two and Business covers five. You switch between them from the sidebar, and the flows, the analytics and the inbox all follow whichever one you are on.
That last detail matters more than the count. A second account is not a second dashboard to remember; it is the same dashboard pointed somewhere else, which is the difference between managing two accounts and maintaining two habits.
Are the credits split between accounts?
No, they are pooled. Five accounts on Business share one balance rather than getting a fifth each, and we chose that deliberately.
The trade is that one account can spend the pool. If you are running accounts for other people rather than for yourself, we would watch the per-flow numbers rather than only the balance, so a single runaway post does not quietly consume a client's month.
We watch this in our own account too. A single post that travels can spend more in an evening than the four quiet accounts beside it spend all month, which is fine when it is your own money and worth a conversation when it is a client's.
How do you give someone their own login?
With a team seat, from Settings. They sign in with their own email and password rather than yours, and they see only the Instagram profiles you assign to them.
- They cannot see your billing.
- They cannot buy anything or cancel your plan.
- They cannot connect new Instagram accounts.
- They do spend the shared credits, so there is nothing to top up twice.
We would give a seat rather than a password every time, for the same reason we would never send an Instagram password to an editor: a seat can be removed, and a password that has been read cannot be unread.
One thing we would set up on day one: decide who is allowed to switch a flow live. A seat can build and edit freely, and the moment a flow goes live it starts spending from the shared pool, so we keep that last step with whoever owns the budget.
What happens when somebody leaves?
Removing a seat takes their login away and hands their profiles back to you. Everything they built stays, because it was always in your workspace rather than in their account.
That is the part we would understand before hiring anybody. The flows, the keywords and the history are yours by default, so a manager leaving is an access change rather than a migration, and we have seen enough handovers go badly elsewhere to think that is worth choosing on purpose.
How would we structure an agency setup?
- One workspace, with each client's Instagram account connected to it, rather than a separate subscription per client.
- One seat per person who actually works in it, assigned only to the profiles they handle.
- A naming rule for flows that starts with the client, because a flow list with twenty entries and no prefix is unreadable by the second month.
- A weekly look at the pooled balance, not a monthly one, so a busy account is noticed before it empties the pool.
- Seats removed the day someone rolls off, in the same ten minutes as their other access.
We would also decide who owns the keyword list. Two accounts using the same keyword is fine, since flows are pinned to their own posts, but two people inventing keywords independently produces a set nobody can read later.
A seat you can remove is worth more than a password you have to change.
How many Instagram accounts can I connect?
One on the free plan, two on Pro and five on Business. You switch between them from the sidebar, and flows, analytics and the inbox follow the account you are on.
Are credits divided between my accounts?
No, they are pooled. Five accounts on Business share one balance rather than getting a fifth each, so a quiet account is not sitting on an allowance it will not use.
Can I give an editor their own login?
Yes, with a team seat from Settings. They sign in with their own email and password and see only the profiles you assign them.
Can a team member see my billing?
No, a seat cannot see billing, buy anything, cancel the plan or connect new Instagram accounts, though it does spend the shared credits.
What happens to the flows when someone leaves?
Removing a seat takes away their login and returns their profiles to you. Everything they built stays, because it lives in your workspace.
Whether it is two accounts or five, Instoly answers the comments on all of them from one place, which is the only way running several stays a job rather than a second job.
The takeaway
Pro covers two accounts and Business five, credits are pooled, and a seat is always better than a password.
