Meta Verified in India: what Meta has said, and what we could not confirm
Meta Verified reached India in June 2023 and businesses in July 2024. What the Help Centre says about requirements, review time and cancelling, and why we print no current price.
Meta Verified has changed more than once, and prices in articles go stale fast. This post sticks to Meta's own pages and prints no current rupee price, because we could not confirm one.
It is also not advice to buy. It is a map of what Meta has said.
What is Meta Verified?
The Help Centre describes it: "Meta Verified for creators is a paid subscription that provides tools to help you build more confidence with new audiences and protect your brand. This subscription comes with benefits such as the verified badge, enhanced support, impersonation protection and more."
What did Meta announce for India?
In June 2023 Meta wrote: "Meta Verified is available for direct purchase on Instagram or Facebook in India starting today." Prices were given in that article, but they are from 2023 and we do not repeat them as current.
In July 2024 it followed with: "We're now rolling out Meta Verified in India for businesses on Instagram and Facebook."
What do you need to apply?
The Help Centre lists these requirements: "Be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country of residence"; "Be located in a country where Meta Verified is available"; and "Have a government-issued photo ID".
For Instagram it adds: "Have Advanced Protection turned on" and "Meet minimum activity requirements". Instagram professional creator profiles and personal profiles are eligible.
On timing, the Help Centre says it will "send an update on your verification status within three working days".
What about cancelling and the new Meta One plans?
The cancel page says: "you need to cancel at least 24 hours before your next payment date. Refunds are not available for cancellations. Meta does not offer any credits or partial refunds for cancelled Meta Verified subscriptions."
In September 2026 Meta wrote: "Meta One plans are now available globally". Its Essential plan includes "a verified badge, verified channel on WhatsApp Business app, and impersonation protection so people know you're who you say you are (pending successful verification)".
We could not confirm how Meta Verified in India maps onto Meta One plans. We also could not confirm India in a Meta One country list.
